Baby Shopping

For those of you who dont know yet - Im pregnant! I'm due on 9th of June. Which, I know, is ages away, but we couldnt resist buying a few things yesterday.

I wanted to get the major furniture bought and set up these holidays though. Because I figured, next holidays, I will not be feeling like doing much :P

So we bought the cot yesterday from Ikea. My mum and MIL came with us, and bought all of the accessories to go with it. I chose a bit of a retro theme. I think it is so so so cute!!

Here are some photos of the cot set up - without the mosquito net though. Because we havent decided where the cot will go in the room just yet, so didnt want to start drilling holes in the ceiling. We also have a matching mobile and night light that isnt in any of the photos..

We will definitely keep you up to date as we do up the nursery. BTW - we do not know the gender - the blue wall was there when we bought the house!

I Completed an ATC set

First of all, let me explain what a ATC is. ATC stands for Artist Trading Card, which are consider miniature pieces of art that are passed on to others. They are usually created as a set with a centralised theme.

And even though I am by no means an 'artist' I was required to make 12 ATCs for a calendar group I am part of. Each participatant will receive one of the set and as I am also a participant, I will end up with 12 ATCs all from various people.

They are just for fun. People will hold onto them etc. Some people display theirs...

So any way. For my set I decided to use just one word for each card. Words that depict life or how we should try to live our lives. This is my very first attempt at making a set and I am really happy with how they have turned out.

One the back of each ATC, I printed out a copy of all the other words in the set and stuck them on.
These are them individually.......

I get no choice in who gets which one...and because I cant decide which one to keep Im posting them all off to the person who is putting together the calendars and distributing the cards.

NZ TRIP

So we're are off tomorrow. My next post will be have some photos of Chris and I freezing our asses off.

Whenever we go on holidays i always get this need to clean the house from top to bottom. I dont understand since we aren't hear for the week so why should i care that its a mess while we're away. Oh well, I guess its nice to come back to a tidy house.

So in my cleaning I saw this bar tabe certificate that I won 2 years ago, that I've had stuck up on the fridge ever since. obviously i was so proud of myself for winning it - i didnt want to use it. I won it at a trivia night with a few friends. We had to label all of the female and male reproductive organs (YAY a year and a half studying/researching with a repro biologist finally paid off). Of course we named every thing correctly and was put into a sudden death question where the answer was.......well i guess the writing on the back of the certificate can tell you that. So me yelling that at the top of my lungs in a pub wasnt so great - but hilarious to my friends....

So any way back to the certificate - i realised that my friend had written "our" victorious win - which was bull - I had to yell it out so it should say "Hannah's victorious win". Also the fact she spelt the word wrong kinda gives it away.....So i was having a giggle over that and then I noticed that it WASNT EVEN VALID!!! I cant believe that!!

Ive held onto the certificate for 2 years and ITS NOT VALID!!! UNHAPPY JAN!

btw - "daz shizzel" was the name of our trivia group....

awwww

I know I only just posted yesterday but Chris took this photo last night or Matilda and I that I thought was too cute not to share. Do you think I can take her tomorrow and smuggle her through customs? Will they believe that she is just a really hairy baby???

'sup?

So thought I'd better post a blog for the hell of it all.

This is my last week of work before the break. Chris and I are off to NZ for the second week of the holidays. hiring a car and staying in hostels. Going to be cold but fun :)

So today we bought a few winter woolies, hence this next photo of me in my new gangsta style beanie. I think Im pretty cool any way!

Thought Id post a few layouts I did a while ago also. Some mum can be proud of ;)

And of course what sort of fur mum would i be if I didnt post a couple of furkids......
Love this one of Boq after playing in the mud...

And because Matilda is so cute..

Signing off with a plea for a comment! I know a few family members have a look now and then, but my counter is counting more than just abi, Mum and Catherine! So leave a comment if you've had a gawk!!! :)

national scrapbooking day

Saturday was National Scrapbooking day and spent it completing some online challenges. Chris was away camping so I had the entire study to myself. The study no looks like it farted embellishments and papers its such a mess!!

So even though Abi teased me about 'celebrating' a scrapbooking day (BTW Abi - you were wearing a cardi...) I had fun. Havent sat down and done some layouts for quite a while.

So these were the layouts I did for the online challenges..

This one, I had to use making memories products. The foam stamps are from making memories
This challenge was to use your favourite two stamps. The little birds and butterflies are my favourite.
This challenge was to use mixed media. Unfortunately its really hard for me to do some thing different. But I played with some wire and beads and created the heart. Not entirely happy with the end result and think I might play around with it some more.....Not a layout - the challenge was to create a ATC (Artist trading card) using the colour blue. The picture is actually the entry ticket for the Eiffel tower. Think I will just stick it into my album separately....
And just for the sake of it....a photo of a cobweb on my verandah I took for '26 things' photography challenge. Ths photo was for the theme 'curves'. Thought it turned out pretty with the sun glare.....
