It's been a long weekend!

This weekend my husband and I help out at the relay for life. This is an event to raise money for the cancer foundation. It is basically were you are sponsored to run laps of the race course, just like in school, but instead of one hour, you are given 19hours!! So they started at 2pm on Saturday and finished at 9am on Sunday. There are games and entertainment all night to keep people going - and basically, even though its tiring, its lots of fun.

I was only there till midnight helping out the kids and keeping tally. It rained down when they started running and so every one was very cold and very wet. But they kept at it. I was so impressed with them. They were in grades 9 - 12. To give up a weekend to do this to raise money is phenomenal. I think on average each of our students raised about $100 each, we had 40 students so they raised close to $4000!

I managed to get a layout done also just a random photos one of my husband.

Tagged

Each player starts with 7 random facts/habits about themselves. People who are tagged need to write on their own blog about their seven things, as well as these rules. At the end of your blog, you need to choose 7 people to get tagged and list their names. Don’t forget to leave them a comment telling them that they have been tagged and to read your blog!

1. Am allergic to earrings no matter what I do/wear. Wish I could wear big funky earrings!! Have earring envy with my sister who I'll buy earrings for if I see some thing cool.

2. Have one tattoo and have had my belly button pierced but not any more (RE first fact)

3. Am one of 4 children.

4. Love daggy teenage girl movies (for example: Mean Girls. She the Man. etc)

5. Have students that I teach that I would foster in a heart beat.

6. Hate any thing that is sticky or grubby.

7. Wash my hands and use alcohol hand rub after every junior class - purely because I feel like their grubbiness has rubbed off on me (senior students don't affect me this much).

If you're reading this - Im tagging you. Post your random facts on your blog and leave a message for me to check your blog out.

Family blogging

If my last post comments are any reference - it looks like my mum and my sister have discovered the world of blogging. Hence the completely "anonymous and unbiased" comments about piglet the black puppy. And then the sarcastic reference to piglet looking like a rat (I do believe this would be my lovely sister).

So this blog entry is dedicated to my fave two girls. Mum and Abi! Hope you are enjoying leaving messages for each other. Love you XXXOOO

And thought I better even it out to include a photo of mums other puppy "Rupert".....

Puppy Ganster

Had to share these cute photos of Matilda. Mum bought the collar with the large M on it and I bought her the hooded sweater. I think she looks like a gangster with the hood and then the bling on the collar!

Such a spoilt dog!

Sydney Visit

DH and I visited Sydney over the easter holidays. I realised that I'm not a big city girl. Although I love the great cafes, shops, cinemas etc I felt really out of place. We did all the touristy things. DH and I went to Darling harbour and saw the opera house and the harbour bridge and went into kings cross. We went to the zoo and saw all my favourite animals.

And of course we took a million photos. Thank god for 1GB cards!! We have bought 3 in preparation for our europe trip.

my favourite the meerkats!
